Firefly in the palm of my hand

…crickers humming to the night, lulled the stars and moon in the dark firmament!
But there are no crickers (jangkrik) in Hopelandia and Gracelandia, there are only fireflies glowing in the meadow, gardens, above the rooftops, in the streets, outside the windows, and sometimes they’re staying motionless in the palm of my hand, only just to showing me up their glaring light. They were gleam in the night reassuring my sleep until the first light arise in the east horizon. So beautiful!

Old Wanderer

Down here from my white ceiling, suddenly my mind describing and giving me a vision about an old tired wanderer went on a thousands miles trip and found a shady tree. He sat under the tree, rest for his exhausting, the winds blow softly and his eye was shut grateful for the deeply comfort that he has taste. But it won’t lasting, because he had to go to carry on and complete his journey. And with a single breath blowing from his mouth he gave one last look then walk away.

Lilywhites in the sky and I was so small in the width of the sky

In a certain amazing moment … I’ve been pulled surprise as I was in thousands feet altitude. I was so so so small, I was so nerveless in the width of the sky. Subhanallah …it was the most beautiful scenery. I was gazing behind the airplane’s window to the mighty sky and the clumps of cloud beside the window. I don’t know why each time traveling by the airplane I always want to see through the window. One thing is because the sky and cloud are amazing. They are saving countless mesmerizing secrets and restoring my bliss each time when I saw them.
Take a look, the sky horizon is limitless and the cloud is unnumbered like white densely heap foams. I could be lost if I was ignored and left alone in there. And the humans are not suitable to act arrogantly. Because you, me and others … are so small.

Heidelberg, Where you lose your heart

“I have loved you long already, and would like, to please myself, to call you mother and give you an artless song, you, of the fatherland’s towns the most country-beautiful, many as I have seen”.
When the poet Friedrich Hölderlin ( 1770-1843 ) wrote this “Ode to Heidelberg” he was perhaps strolling along the philosophers’ walk on the banks of the River Neckar. From here one gets the best view of the romantic Heidelberg panorama. The famous ruined castle, the old nooks and alleyways, the picturesque houses and courtyards and the lovely Neckar valley inspired poets and painters at the beginning of the 19th century. In their search for closeness to nature, the past and a national identity, they regarded Heidelberg as the ideal romantic city. It was here that Achim von Arnim ( 1781-1831 ) and Clemens Brentano ( 1778-1842 ) gathered the fairy tales, folk songs, legends and ballads which they published in their important collection “Des Knaben Wunderhorn” ( “The Boy’s magic horn” ).

A lot of studying also goes on in this tranquil, romantic city. With a tradition stretching back 623 years, Heidelberg university is not only the oldest, but also one of the best-regarded in Germany. Thousand of future graduates are attracted by its good reputation, its first-class professors and solid academic education. When the university was founded in 1386 studying was a privilege for a small number of men. But now with 30,000 students the university is bursting at the seams. Every fifth inhabitant of Heidelberg is a student.

If you study hard and shut yourself up in your room you could quickly become like a well-known Heidelberg plant – you will turn as pale as asparagus. In the months of May and June all culinary attention is focused on this vegetable, which owes its refined paleness to a special method of cultivation. In sandy soil and in a damp, warm climate it grows in earth mounds up to 60 cms high and never sees the light until it is harvested. Even back in the days of the ancient Greeks asparagus was prized as a healthy vegetable and also considered an aphrodisiac. And pharmacists have regarded it as an effective way of cleansing the kidneys. Deutsch mit spass – Bilder aus Deutschland.

Erlend Øye, his eye glass and Whitest Boys Alive

I should tell about Erlend and his band Whitest Boys Alive playing concert in this town a month ago. But I think I had forgetfulness to wrote this event on this blog. This concert was took place in auditorium hall RRI Bandung on Saturday night ( December 6th, 2008 ). With ticket price Rp. 90.000,- not exceedingly expensive for foreign musicians concert. Actually this wasn’t a huge concert, only a small relaxed concert on Saturday night.

Oh ya, I’m telling you …there was a queerness in this concert. Because Erlend and his band “Whitest Boys Alive” were actually a substitute band. Substitute for Jens Lekman ( a Swedish indie pop singer ). Jens concert committee informing about the cancellation through an official group on facebook several hours before show time, because Jens Lekman still detained on the airport in China. So I was already knew, and the official concert crews on the spot tells me that Erlend Øye and his band will perform as substitute. Well …that was quite make me felt relieved, because I’m gonna watch Erlend again. He was came and playing concert to this town couple years ago, of course with his previous band “Kings of Convenience”. And I was quite familiar with Kings of Convenience songs, but I never listening or knowing the songs of Whitest Boys Alive. So this concert make me understand about the band named Whitest Boys Alive. And Erlend who usually act calmly now he was quite enthusiastic that night. I really enjoy this concert even though not knowing the lyrics of their songs, and as usual I was making plenty pictures and videos of this concert.

Hyperesthesia’s message informing me about the stars in night sky

Last night was gratifying me. I was on my room doing my works. My mobile phone was ringing. It was a short message from my Hyperesthesia’s friend, she sent me her sms at 20:08 pm. She said “Gorky, look at the sky”. So I was stopping a while and hurrying unveil my window’s curtain. I looked to the night sky,…hhmm but I can’t see more wide because my view was blocked by the window’s frame. So I get off from my room and go to the balcony then I saw the whole night sky, it was darkest blue. That color seems like trying to covered the secrets behind it. My eyes gazed around the sky and I found a star! Yeah …I saw a star afar on my North-east side of the sky. Right above the high new building of Maranatha’s university. I saw it shine clearly. Then I wrote back a short message to her at 20:10 pm, I said “I saw a glowing star!”. I looked to the other side, to the north right above me, then surprise! …I found another one. I wrote again to her, and said “There are two now!”. Then she replied me at 20:12 pm she said “They are so rare, but so beautiful …beautiful as they come”. And followed by the next message at 20:13 pm “would be great if we could see a shooting star …we wish!”. Then I respond “yeah,… but we should holding on to our wish even there isn’t a shooting star, thanks for letting me know to look up the sky”. She replied back “I guess stars are hardly to found in this uncertain weather like nowadays. You and me were amazed for their wonderful glow. You need to know if stars were glowing right now. Enjoy! And keep wishing”. Then I gave her one last respond “Yeah,… it was miracle. Keeping up your wishes too!”.

Then I’m back to my room, while being constantly reminded to my star reader and I’m wondering. This moment I dedicated to her. If I see a moon one day, I’ll inform her definitely.

Good night stars!

Green meadow

In my dream I went to a pacify place that pampered by the sun, sheltered from the wind, and blessed with green meadow. There was an old willow, a loner standing all alone in the middle of this width meadow. He was quite luxuriant, but looks so hubbub afar, his leaves were wiggling swee
p by the breeze. While the orioles singing canticle on the branches like Fljótavík from Sigur Rós, a mellifluous solemn song for nature. Nature is everywhere in the stillness and isolation. So I lay down in this green meadow under this old lonely willow. And time seems to pass more slowly here. Oh….how simply

Transmitter Stars

You see the stars, So I tell you …
Nobody watched me before, now I am watched.
By your bare eye
Across your ceiling
Emerge murmuring round your room
Like artificial fluorescent stars glowing in the dark
When you turning off the lights
I’m not hiding from you, didn’t I?
I love to be found
You see the stars
Their gleam transmitting stories to you, it corresponds.
Between you and me
In the splendid secret of your own night skies
Blinking in north, blinking in south
It’s a glow of pale autumn yellow
It’s a glow of black dim
Like the stars that guides the sailor's way
Blinking in east, blinking in west
Tracing its patterns with your fingertips
patched together and connected
Look ….You’ll see the outline now
A small constellation
Tell me what do you see?
When you see the stars
Make a wish as you’re expect me
Like what you wish for
When you see the stars
Then I catch a dream
When you see the stars
I feel the wind calling me
When you see the stars
I wished to never see you sad
When you see the stars
I wished to see you smile
When you see the stars
Then I wish to see you as a moon
When you see the stars
Then I wish to see you back as the rainbow
Star with moon or rainbow
They’re amazing, full of majesty
Undeniable natural beauty
Star and moon are compatible
Harmonious, uncomplicated, …aren’t they so sweet?
Whatever the reason behind its creating
Star and moon always bound
Their constant friendship has enchant the whole universe
Sometimes they come together
Sometimes each one alone
Moon sad under a starless sky
Star crying in a moonless night
That’s how we must did
So when you see the stars
I’m one with myself, …one with the world, …one with everything
And I feel you
Wherever, whoever or whatever yesterday passed away
You’ll find me today
Hope, Peace, miracle and cherish
Dreaming …..dreaming
Forever and forever
So take my thank, …dear reader of the stars
as our night prepares for sleep.

Phantasmagoric film

I’m very fond of films
Always spellbound by Tim Burton
The ambience of supernatural illusions
as seen in dreams, fever or fairyland.
Pale skin and gothic’s eyes
Weird persons and neuralgic antagonist
The fumes comes out from the gigantic smokestack’s tower in the mid of town from distance
Gloomy sky and hazy
Perfect illustrations of absurdly phantasm mind.
Oh God! …I really want to make this kind of phantasmagoric film.
Using the art work figures of Ray Caesar
and Tim Burton as my producer.
A film about phantasmagoria.

Legendary street named Braga

Peoples has been customary known the street of Braga. A legendary famed of a street name, it’s one of the oldest and most important street in Bandung since the period of Netherland’s colonization government. Until now name of this street has been settled as an icon and tourism object in Bandung. And every year’s end there’s always festival of arts and culture held on this street. Definitely this street has so many amazing history, as amazing as Bandung its self.

So …follow me take a stroll this fabulous street.

I was passing by this street after meet my colleague. This street has always subjugate this heart each time I’m passing it by. Actually I’ve been passing through this street many times, till I can’t remember it anymore how many times. But always feel pleasure whenever I’m being in this street area. If we refer to other prominent streets, this street is not so wide and long. The sidewalk so close by within the street, like we’re being in the other side of Bandung, it’s more like Europe’s ambience. Perhaps the buildings and stores in this street areas which has been built since the Netherland’s colonization ( Hindia-Belanda ) has been planned and arranged to be keeping up with the models in Europe, accordance to the development of Bandung at that period ( 1920 – 1940’s ). See ….On the left and right side of the street there are several stores which are possess the characteristic of old architectural shape from the Netherland’s colonization ( Hindia – Belanda ). And it has been kept up fine, one of them for example is Kimia Farma pharmacy, and Gedung Merdeka ( Asia-Afrika’s building, formerly Societeit Concordia’s building ). There are also several interesting antique shops along this street, as well as traditional craft stores and excellent paintings. Yeah …You might found plenty of good paintings sell on this street.

Oh …ya, there are always peoples doing something, mostly photography along this street. So if you are intend to come to Bandung, or being in Bandung already …don’t forget to attending to this street, see the tracks of old history and each buildings restored to its own former glory.

Refraction and lost

It's just so hard to stay
It's just so hard to stay
It's just so hard to stay
And so easy to run away
When there’s nothing that you can trust
When there’s nothing holding you out
When there’s nothing of love remain.

Wanderlust

I want to runaway

I want a liberty

I want to be in somewhere, nowhere, a new where…

I want to flap my wing, diving to the new lands

I want to be in Land’s End

I want to explode

I want to explore

I want to go to the unmarked places on the world’s map

I want to go to the unknown places

I want to try something new

I want the barriers, and subdue the barriers

I want to live, taste the experiences and learn from the great peoples

I want to diffuse and live friendly with the environment

I want to wandering to the each corners of the world,

to the subfreezing places

to the warmest places and wind circulating

to the sun rising up and setting down

to the place where two continents meeting

to the places where wildlife animal run free

to the concrete’s jungle with the city lights

to the land with shade yearning trees,

so I can sitting comfortably underneath of them

to the clear oceans and see the horizon line

to the spread out wide blue sky, piercing the clouds

trespassing to renowned airports

trespassing to the nations’ borders

absorbed to the classical beauty of the blue continent

I want to breaking loss

I want to be free, like a mountain range hawks

I want to see more different cultures

I want to understand more different languages

I want to walk among the peoples walking fast

I want to attend to the new places,

I want to fuse, scream, burst, bounce around, excite, flare, explore, dream, and discover.

This yearning

I was perplexed by this feeling
No one could understand it
Could I see again that beautiful Angel?
My morning star
Between each new days
Between the times that I spent
Between peoples on the streets
Between the festivity
Or even between in my night’s dream
Oh God,…I’m asking you a second chance

Goodnight Earth

Tonight I got nothing to do
Sitting here on the balcony in front of my room
Winds blowing softly occasionally
Infiltrate between anything they met
The night sky is so quite
And the stars scattered
Like chocolate grains spread out on bread
So, I look into those stars
Wish I could see them closer ....closer and closer
How’s it going to be if I was being there?
in one of those stars
I’ll be definitely felt so touched
To see the earth
a place where I dwell.

My fondest wishes in Brand New Year

In next few moment we gonna say goodbye to this year. I try to reminiscing all the precious moments has past, remembering how my wishes, my experiences and my friends enriched my life. I was learning the lessons from the troubling times, applying what I have learned about life during the last twelve months. I was so proud that all my dreams makes me kept flared up.

As usual I always proclaim to myself each year change. That I will stronger and better than before, I will walk unafraid in my significant steps. In this coming new year of 2009 I have to invent something beneficial as each day will grow. I’ll swear that I focused on my goals and works toward my dreams, I would never stop believing in them.

So,...HAPPY NEW YEAR my friends! I wish for you a peaceful life with happiness galore and new hopes. May it bring more joy and success, less grief and regret. Just convinced that we may realize our fondest dreams!
Goodbye 2008, May the good times live on in our memories!
